Amanda and Jess are twenty-something mamas who have been best friends for two decades. Despite being currently separated by over 300 miles, these two have shared many things – inside jokes, bottles of wine, simultaneous pregnancies (not on purpose!!) and now Crafternoon Playdate.
Hi guys! My name is Amanda and I am an infant/toddler teacher turned nanny turned mama! My husband and I have been together for ten years, and we have a bright and energetic 2.5-year-old named Madeline. Lucky for me, she LOVES doing arts and crafts as much as I do! We do a lot of process over product oriented crafts, but I’m also a sucker for a cute handprint project, too! When my BFF of over twenty years asked if I wanted to join her on a journey of a toddler/preschool craft and education blog I jumped at the chance! The only thing better than making art is making it with your friends!
Jess, here! I am a former preschool program instructor (teaching music, math, Spanish, and phonics) who later transitioned to Corporate America where I spent the last several years. Like Amanda, I am married to an awesome guy and he and I have two incredible kids. After having our second child, I became a stay-at-home-mom. Spending my days with 2.5-year-old Jasper and 5-month-old Mila is both rewarding and challenging. As the main source of their educational exposure, I challenge myself to engage them in new and exciting ways through crafts, sensory activities, and social outings. I am looking forward to sharing these ideas with you so you can create similar experiences for your children (or the children in your care). If you’re interested in getting to know me better, I encourage you to find me on Instagram @jessicamauras.
